TEHRAN Price index of production in the industrial sector in the Iranian month of Tir 1380 (22 June - 22 July 2001) reached 185.2 and had an increase of 3.78% compared to the same month in the previous year. This price index had an increase of 1.23% compared to the month before, according to the Iran's Center of Statistics.

The statistics further showed an increase of 3.43% in the price index of food and beverage industry in the same period compared to the year before, amounting to 196.06, showing a 3.5% rise compared to the month before.

Price index of production of different kinds of beverages in the same period compared to the year before had a drop of 0.11%. Price index of chicken meat had an increase of 16.95% and price index of cow or sheep meat and goat were 1.26% and 0.56% in the same period compared to last year, respectively.

Price index of textile production reached 148.6, showing a 0.27% decrease compared to the previous month and showing a 2.78% jump compared the same month the year before.

In the production of apparel, the price index had a 0.06% increase compared to the previous month, amounting to 184.8 and showing an increase of 2.14% compared to the same month, the year before.

Furthermore, price index of chemical products showed a 1.07% decrease compared to last month, totaling 173.8, showing an increase of 2.53% compared to the same month in the previous year.
