Frenchman Jacques Gamblin Best Actor at Berlin Film Festival

BERLIN -- Frenchman Jacques Gamblin won the Silver Bear for best actor for his role in the world war II movie ****Laissez-Passer**** (safe conduct) at the Berlin Film Festival Sunday, reported AFP.

In the movie director Bertrand Tavernier paints a picture of a French film industry that in its own stubborn way asserts itself against the Nazis.

Gamblin plays the hero, assistant director Jean Devaivre, who fights for the resistance while working in a Nazi-controlled production company in Paris during the war.
