TEHRAN Asrin Alafi, a child artist from Kurdestan Province, was awarded an honorary citation at the International Painting Exhibition of Tehran.

Alafi is a member of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (CIDCYA) of Kurdestan.

According to a report from CIDCYA, the international painting competition was held on January 4 in Tehran. Some 2,500 paintings from 23 countries were submitted and 138 were selected for the competition. The competition was held to introduce children to the cultures of different countries on the occasion of the Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations.
