Azerbaijan Calls For Development of Cooperation With Iran in Power Sector

TEHRAN Azerbaijan Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev on Tuesday called for expansion of bilateral cooperation in the power industry in a meeting with Iran's TAVANIR managing director.

Aliyev praised Iran's help in providing the Nakhichevan Republic with electricity and asked for further supply of power to this republic.

He expressed Azerbaijani interest to construct a second 110-kilovolt line for the Iran-Astara (in Azerbaijan) route.

The Azeri minister also called for Iran's cooperation in constructing power plants in Azerbaijan.
