Iranian Films Screened at Berlin Kurdish Film Festival
The festival was held from June 8 to 15.
The films ****A Time for Drunken Horses ****, **** A Song in the Rain ****, ****Guest ****, **** A Song from a Girl in the Hills**** and **** God's Fish****, all directed by Iranian Kurd Bahman Qobadi, were screened during this festival.
The 13 minute film **** Today's Researcher**** directed by Bahman Qobadi's brother Abtin Qobadi and made with the cooperation of Bijan Zamaneh Para was also screened.
The short film ****Ashura**** directed by Farzad Fouladi was screened for the first time at the festival. Fouladi's film ****Fear**** was also screened.
**** The Wind Will Take Us**** directed by Abbas Kiarostami, *****Children in the Role of Soldiers **** directed by Bijan Zamaneh Para, and **** Blackboard**** directed by Samira Makhbalbaf are the other Iranian films which were screened in the festival.
The films **** The Good Kurds, The Bad Kurds**** from the United States, ****A Song for Bagou**** from Armenia, and ****The April Children**** from Turkey were also screened.
Some 30 feature, short and documentary films from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Greece, the U.S., Armenia, France, Germany, and Switzerland were screened at the festival, which was sponsored by the Babylon Cultural Association of Germany.
Bahman Qobadi and the deputy chairman of the Cultural Affairs Commission of the Berlin Senate attended the opening ceremony of the festival.
Over 60,000 Kurds are currently living in Berlin.
