TEHRAN -- One of the university professors of supporting the children's rights Masoudeh Mashayekh said, "Plan 14 to forbid the child abuse was recently ratified in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

During the 15th workshop of supporting the children's rights in Saveh, Mashayekh said that the plan has been made by Shirin Ebadi, one of the consultants of the Society for Protecting the Rights of the Child (SPRC), was ratified without any negative vote by the MPs.

She expressed hope that we would not face any kind of child abuse in the Islamic society of Iran, adding that based on this plan, child abuse is considered as a crime.

Another expert in children's rights, Farkhondeh Ziarati said, "Based on the recent statistics, 1.8 million Iranian children are deprived from education facilities and forced to work permanently.

Among which 400,000 are under the age of 15.

She added that the children are forced to work because of the hard life conditions, all of these are disapproved by the international convections related to the children's rights. Rising the population, and problems related to immigration to metropolitans are main problems of child abuse, she added.

Ziarati said, "Based on the labor rule of Islamic Republic of Iran, child labor is forbidden before 15.
