Third Phase of Saipa's R&D Launched

The Saipa auto makers development plan aimed at increasing production from 450 cars a day to 600, was launched in the presence of minister of mines and industries.

It is the third phase of Saipa's four-phase development plan. The fourth phase aimed at producing 1,000 cars daily will start in two years.

The first phase of the plan started in 1998 and the second phase came became operational in 2000 increasing the daily production to 300 and 450 cars respectively.

The development project of Saipa includes establishment of two new lines for production of car body, assemblage and color for low and medium volume vehicles and semi-and full- automatic separately.

The plan also includes the building of a new painting hall with an annual manufacturing capacity of 150,000 cars through the employment of world's latest technology, aimed at decreasing the environment pollution and also to create job for 732 people.

According to the Public Relations Office of Saipa, of the total 1,810 billion rials budget absorbed for development, the company will allocate 40% to spare part manufacturing, 49 % to production and 11% to production development.
