Iranian Hajj Officials Confer With Egyptian Hajj Mission Director
The delegation conferred with the Moroccan Hajj Mission Director Abdoljalil Ghazzawi and discussed the issues regarding Hajj pilgrimage and the Muslim world.
Ghazzawi noted that 31,000 pilgrims have been dispatched to Mecca. He also said that in Morocco, the pilgrims are not allowed to go on pilgrims for the second time unless five years have been completed from their first pilgrimage.
The Iranian Hajj Mission delegation too gave a brief description about the issues regarding Hajj pilgrimage and invited the Moroccan side to take part in the Conference on Proximity Among Religious Schools of Thought held in the Islamic Republic of Iran' Hajj Mission in Mecca.
A delegation from the Iranian Hajj Mission headed by Hojjatoleslam Khoshnevis also met the director of Egyptian Hajj Mission in Mecca, Hassan Jamaloddin, here Sunday.
During the visit, Jamaloddin commented on the developments regarding Hajj pilgrimage in Egypt and put the number of the Egyptian pilgrims dispatched from the country at 10,000.
He also noted that the number is added to by the Egyptian pilgrims residing abroad.
Hojjatoleslam Khoshnevis, for his part referred to Iran and Egypt's ancient civilizations and rich cultural background and cited the scientific relations and correspondence between the late Iranian clergy Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Hossein Boroujerdi and the Egyptian scholar Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout.
Khoshnevis also referred to the importance the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to the Arabic language teaching in Iranian schools and universities.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the Egyptian Hajj Office officials in Mecca to visit the Iranian Hajj Office there.
A Chinese Muslim delegation here Thursday also conferred with the Leader's Representative in Hajj Affairs in Mecca Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri.
After giving a brief report on the condition of Muslims in China, the head of the delegation called for more cultural relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Chinese Muslim community.
Referring to his last visit to China and his meeting with the Muslims community there, Reyshahri said that since Islam was first introduced in China by Iranians, the Chinese Muslims have a deep affection for Iranians.
At the end, the Iranian Hajj pilgrims' supervisor called on Muslims to each other.
