Consequences of U.S. formal exit from Paris climate pact: More isolation globally

TEHRAN - The U.S. has formally begun to exit the Paris climate agreement. Regardless of whether or not the Paris Agreement is legally binding, the U.S. has committed to cut 26-28% of its greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 from 2005 levels, and donate three billion dollars to poor countries by 2020.

Iran actually is managing misfortune with aplomb

Recent reports claim the U.S. is constructing a couple military bases or outposts in or near Syrian oil fields around Deir ez-Zor in far eastern Syria. It’s hard to imagine anything more absurd or arrogant or, for that matter, illegal. It’s not only illegal but stealing Syria’s oil is nothing but raw, in-your-face theft, and if anyone EVER thought the U.S. was in ANY foreign lands to bring good tidings, democracy, respect for human rights that includes alleged women’s rights, then this crass move ought to once and for all time rip the cover off any assertions to the contrary about what the so-called “empire’s” true intentions are.

A short rant after a personal visit to Syria

NORTH CAROLINA - So, is there some kind of looming military confrontation between Russia and the United States in eastern Syria around Syria’s oil fields, which the U.S. in a pirate role has more or less claimed as its own and seems to be all about looting the oil there?

Arrival of resistance forces in northern Syria: Erdogan’s failed political calculations

In response to the Turkish army’s incursion into north Syria, the Syrian army entered Tabqah and deployed forces near the military airport in Raqqa province in the early hours of Monday. Tabaqa military airport is located near the Euphrates Dam, one of the biggest and most important dams in Syria, which was lost during the bloody battle between the Syrian army and ISIS in August 2014.

What we eat determines our health and future

In recent decades, our diets and eating habits have dramatically changed, moving from seasonal, mainly plant-based and fibre-rich dishes to high calorie diets and processed foods, loaded with sugar, fat and salt. These days also in Iran, less time is spent to prepare meals at home, and consumers rely on fast food outlets and home delivery of processed foods.

Iran has foiled hostile plan in the region

Thirteen years ago, the situation in the region was highly disappointing. There were predictions about fragmentation in the region by enormous developments, from which Iran would not survive. Iran was definitely supposed to be at the heart of the disturbance. The chaos started with the Syrian civil war in March 2011.

A speculation about the Trumpian core

NORTH CAROLINA - Here is a wild and maybe baseless hunch the Zionists and Israel could start working hard but covertly to see Donald Trump impeached by the Democrats in Congress. One might say this sounds bizarre and implausible given all that “Israel” has extracted from Trump and his administrative cronies: more billions of American taxpayer bucks than ever before, the “gift” of the Syrian Golan as recognized Israeli territory as if such U.S. recognition legitimized the Israeli hold on the territory, the further gift of a free hand for the Zionists to build more illegal settlements in the West Bank, the refusal to speak out against the horrors of life in Gaza, the move of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to West Jerusalem, and much more.

Reasons to be optimistic and steadfast in Iran

NORTH CAROLINA - So, Donald Trump is abandoning the Kurds in northeastern Syria and allegedly pulling out U.S. troops, giving Turkey a green light to try to ensure that a Kurdish state will not threaten Turkey’s eastern Anatolia. But the fear is that ISIS will be resurrected somehow, and on it goes in a kaleidoscope of sectarian and political confrontations in the Middle East where the sands beneath one’s feet seem to shift on a weekly basis.

Strategies for combating international terrorism in Central Asia

TEHRAN - After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Central Asia has been cast as the site of a new "great game". Central Asia has been largely influenced by international developments and the emergence of persistent sources of instability and tension in other parts of the world, including the Middle East and North Africa. Some states in the region have succeeded in expanding their relationships with other actors. For example, Kazakhstan has tried to advance its goals by participating in important international issues and designing appropriate policies. Although Kazakhstan has succeeded in this path, most of the countries in the region face major challenges.

NORTH CAROLINA - Mike Pompeo continues to write and speak garbage about Iran. His obvious aim: turn the person in the U.S. street against Iran, or at least, spew enough propaganda over and over so that no one of weak mind, a majority, is going to object to the Trump gang doing whatever it wants in and to West Asia, and that in subservience to the Saudis and the Zionists.

Absolution from crimes by deflection and deceit is never successful

NORTH CAROLINA - Vladimir Putin appears far and away smarter than any major Western “leader”, especially Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo. Ansarullah appears to have attacked the Abqaiq oil processing plant in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia with drones or something, or claims it did. Maybe they fired off missiles of some sort that had adopted Iranian technology. It’s a mystery, but whatever and whoever hit the plant, and it wasn’t the homemade firecracker rockets that fly out of the Gaza Strip to land in some farm field around Sederot inside “Israel”, whatever this “country” without defined borders really is geographically (it’s never been reliably determined).
