Tehran cultural center to host intl. women festival

TEHRAN -- Niavaran Cultural Center in northern Tehran will play host to the International Women’s Arts Festival from July 15-17 to commemorate the auspicious birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima (SA).

The festival is scheduled to put theater, visual arts, music, poetry, and culture in spotlight.

A group exhibition of paintings by Shahla Habibi, Mansureh Hosseini, Maryam Salvar, Haydeh Zarrinbal, Farideh Shahsavarani, and Nahid Omidi will be also held during the festival.

Turkish musical band led by Nabahat Yilmaz and famous female singer of Iranian traditional and folk songs Pari Zanganeh accompanied by pianist Fariba Javaheri will perform concerts.

Another special concert for women will be performed by Khatereh Parvaneh, Ofilia Parto, and Nushin Aqiqi.

The Azerbaijani ensemble led by Saida Bagirava is to put on a concert at the festival.

Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Fatemeh Motamedaria, Golab Adineh, Sediqeh Kianfar, Zarrinbal, Zanganeh, Parto, Omidi, and nine other Iranian woman artists will be honored at the closing ceremony of the event.
