TEHRAN – Iran’s President Mahmud Ahmadinejad is set to visit Qatar on Friday to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th Asian Games, a presidential office official said Wednesday.

Ehsan Jahandideh, in his talks with the MNA, added, “The president will go on a one-day trip to the Qatari capital Doha and will also meet the Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.”

Doha will hold the Games from December 1-15, hosting more than 13,000 athletes from 45 nations.

Ahmadinejad and the emir will discuss bilateral relations, mutual interests, and important regional and international issues, Jahandideh said.
