TEHRAN -- Power plants’ fuel tanks, now 80 percent full, will be filled to capacity by Nov. 6, said Iran’s energy minister here.
For the moment, power plants’ stockpiles are satisfactory, Parviz Fattah added.“We need to bring in foreign investors to launch many of dam building and power plants projects,” he said, adding investors cooperate with the non-governmental sector.
Ministry of Energy is not to invest directly in building power plants and has a commitment only to accomplish the semifinished plants projects, added the official.
In the first half of the year (starts March 21), gas is an appropriate fuel for plants as household consumption falls, he said, adding as winter approaches fuel consumption swells, causing power plants supply problem.
He added one liter of gas oil generates the same amount of energy as do mazut and gas.
Power plants consumed from 120m to 140m cu. m. of gas last summer, Fattah said
