TEHRAN – The Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council (MREPC) director for marketing and development on Saturday expressed his country’s readiness to help reinforce buildings against earthquakes in Iran.
Adnan Abdullah said that the MREPC and Iran’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Development are to use the earthquake-resistant systems in new Parand Town residential complexes.“If the project is successfully conducted in Parand Town, it will be applied in other buildings of Iran,” the Malaysian official added.
He also noted that the MREPC intends to initiate training courses, transfer the technology, and establish a factory in Iran.
Malaysia has the know-how of applying rubber in such systems and Iran will be the 50th country which will use this technology for its buildings.
