Iranian students snatched one gold, one silver and two bronze medals and a honorary diploma in the 2nd International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics in Indonesia.

Some 24 countries took part in the competition which held from August 19-28 in Bandung city, capital of West Java Province.
Students from 25 countries, including Islamic Republic of Iran, Bangladesh, Belarus, India, Korea, Lithuania, Myanmar, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Greece, Ukraine as well as Vietnam partici pated in the event.
The First IOAA was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on November 30 to December 9, 2007, and the third one will be in Iran. (Source: IRIB)
