Iran summons Moroccan charge d’affaires

TEHRAN (IRNA) – Moroccan Charge d’Affaires Mohammed Bu Zarif was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Friday.

The diplomat was summoned over the publication of false news reports by Moroccan news agencies.
The director of the North African Affairs Department of the Foreign Ministry also informed the Moroccan diplomat about Iran’s discontent over the stances taken by the Moroccan king.
The diplomat was urged to inform the Moroccan of the Iranian government’s surprise and discontent and ask for the necessary explanations.
Bu Zarif said Morocco is interested in expanding relations with Iran, which he called a regional power with an ancient civilization.
He said he would promptly inform Moroccan officials about Iran’s views and ask them to explain.
