Non-Aligned Movement member states have reached an agreement to hold the next NAM summit in the Iranian capital city of Tehran in 2012.

The decision was made during the 15th NAM Summit in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Thursday.
""
[Egyptian] President Hosny Mubarak, on behalf of my government and my country I want to thank you all sincerely for the honor you gave us, through accepting our invitation to host the 16th summit of the movement,"" DPA quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki as saying during the closing of the NAM session.
More than 50 heads of state from the developing world gathered in Egypt to discuss ways to tackle the fallout from the global economic meltdown, with calls for a new world order.
The leadership of the 118-member group had been earlier handed over to Egypt by Cuba for two years.
Also in its Thursday statement, NAM voiced unanimous support for the Palestinian people to end the ""Israeli occupation"".
More than 50 world leaders say they will spare no efforts to help the two sides reach ""a just and peaceful solution for the conflict"".
The NAM summits have been billed as the largest gathering of nations outside the UN General Assembly.
Founded in 1955, NAM has 118 member states, and represents around 56 percent of the world population.
