TEHRAN -- An album containing photos from miniature paintings by prominent Iranian artist Mahmud Farshchian was donated by Iran to the Stockholm Public Library last week.
The album was handed over to Stockholm Public Library Director Inga Lundén by Iranian Cultural Attaché Bahman Moazzami. At the ceremony, Lundén expressed her appreciation for the donation of such an invaluable book saying that it would attract the attention of many visitors.
Moazzami also made a short speech about the methods of Farshchian and announced that Iranian cultural attaché’s office is ready to provide books in Persian music and literature to the library.
“Sweden is one of the few countries that pays special attention to the mother tongue. However, the fact that numerous Persian speaking citizens reside in this country makes the equipping of the library with Persian books inevitable,” Lundén mentioned.
She stressed on the importance of educational CDs for Persian children who are born in Sweden.
Moazzami introduced the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults as one the influential institutions that is active in publication of books for children.
