TEHRAN – An English version of a book recounting the memoirs of the revolutionary activist Ahmad Ahmad during the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah, Iran’s last monarch, has recently been published.

The Persian version of the book titled “Ahmad Ahmad” was published in 2008 by Sureh-Mehr, a publisher affiliated with the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization.

Mohammad Karimi has translated the memoirs into English, Sureh-Mehr announced on Wednesday.

The book covers 70-hours worth of interviews with Ahmad conducted by Mohsen Kazemi in summer 1995. Kazemi spent four years editing the book.

Ahmad was a member of the military wing of the Islamic Nations Party who was arrested by SAVAK, the Shah’s Intelligence service in 1965.

He was permanently disabled in his last encounter with SAVAK agents when he was shot in his foot.

He was subjected to the physical and mental tortures for years at SAVAK prison.
