Historical arcades, passageways to be restored in Qom

TEHRAN – A number of historical arcades and passageways will be restored across Iran’s central Qom province, CHTN reported.
Some 3 billion rials from the national budget has been allocated to the project, said Hamid Yazdadi, the provincial tourism chief.
The arcades of Chehel Akhtanan, Haj Hossein, Bagh Panbeh, Shah Hamzeh, Joda, Panj-Ali will be renovated within the framework of the scheme, the official explained.
“Since Qom is known as a cradle for the [1979] Islamic Revolution and it is also famed as a Shia center, preserving, reviving and introducing its historical texture is an essential step towards preservation of its historical identity.”
