A unique experience in life: Traveling to Iran during Muharram

TEHRAN – A unique time for visiting Iran is during the first ten days of the lunar month of Muharram, which falls from Sept. 1 to 10 this year. That’s because Iranians, who are mostly Shia Muslims, hold special ceremonies during this time. For Shia Muslims, Muharram is a turning point in the history of Islam.

NORTH CAROLINA - It may seem improbable but the very key to whether the world enjoys real (and somewhat relative, if not absolute) "peace" going forward, as well as the fate of the U.S. as any kind of somewhat respected but former imperial (and absurdly imperious) power, depends on two things: the end of U.S. disrespect for international laws, most evident in the “regime change” wars, and on the fate of the Palestinians and whether they are given civil rights and released from bondage in their own country.

Hazrat Fatima (A.S), the most oppressed Lady in the world

TEHRAN - Both Shia and Sunni sources agree that, on a number of occasions, Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) had said, "Fatimah is part of me. Whoever makes her angry, makes me angry." This has been recorded in both Sahih Bukhari (Arabic-English, Volume 5, Traditions 61 and 111) and Sahih Muslim (in the section on the virtues of Hazrat Fatimah, Volume 4, pages 1904-1905), two of the most important Hadith books to Sunnis. It is also recorded in Sahih Bukhari Chapter of "The battle of Khaibar", Arabic-English, v5, tradition #546, pp 381–383, also v4, Tradition #325) that Hazrat Fatimah was angry with Abu Bakr and did not speak to him before she died.

  • Muslims must be aware of divisive sources 2018-12-04 09:43

Muslims must be aware of divisive sources

Divisive sources in the Muslim community, unfortunately, have the media in hand. For instance, Fadak Satellite Channel, which is a private Shia Muslim TV in the UK, was launched with the purpose to create division among Shia and Sunni brothers. Fadak is funded by the British government. What is even more shocking is that broadcast media such as Al Wesal TV, and Kalemeh TV that are both Sunni based, or Fadak Satellite Channel and Ahl-e-Bait TV that are Shia based, both receive funds from the same source to create division among Ummah. Interestingly, Shias and Sunnis have 89 percent commonality in their secondary principles and 91 percent commonality in their main principles, so with more awareness, the enemy won’t be able to sow discord among Muslims.

Kabul school attack underscores threat to Afghanistan’s future

“How could they attack a classroom,” a friend asked, noticeably angry and outraged. There are no easy answers to that. A human mind cannot come to terms with the atrociousness of such horrendous crimes against humanity. Barging inside a packed classroom and blowing up young school children is no chivalry. It is an act of cowardice and spinelessness. The victims were not carrying arms and they were not on the frontlines of war. They were inside a classroom, preparing for university entrance examination.
