TEHRAN – Iran’s Persepolis football club have completed the signing of Hungarian winger Dániel Gera.

The 30-year-old joins the Tehran-based club from Hungarian side Diósgyőr, putting pen to paper on an 18-month contract.

Gera is also a member of the Hungary national team and has earned four international caps for the Magyars.

He is expected to make his debut for Persepolis in Thursday’s match against Foolad.

Persepolis have already bolstered their attacking options by signing Uzbekistan international striker Igor Sergeev, as the club continues to strengthen its squad.

The Reds currently top the standings in the 2025/26 Iran Persian Gulf Professional League (PGPL).
