'Europe home to Nazism': Iranian MP reacts to MEP’s insulting move against Iran Leader
TEHRAN - An Iranian parliamentarian has reacted to an insulting move by a member of the European Parliament (MEP) against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Mojtaba Zarei, who sits on the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said the reason behind the effrontery was that the European Parliament wanted to kiss up to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Recently, an Italian member of the European Parliament, Isabella Tovaglieri, tore up a picture of Ayatollah Khamenei.
The Iranian MP went on to say that “Europe is home to fascism and Nazism,” adding, “both corrupt Trump and pure and revolutionary Iran have sidelined Europe.”
After making the comments, the MP tore up the photo of the members of the European Parliament. He then chanted a slogan in support of Ayatollah Khamenei, which was echoed by other MPs on the Parliament floor.
