Karrubi Rejects Rumors on His Candidacy in Next Presidential Elections

TEHRAN The Iranian Parliament Speaker Mahdi Karrubi said yesterday that he would not be a candidate in next year's presidential elections.
Several domestic periodicals had recently announced the candidacy of Hojjatoleslam Karrubi for the next presidential elections.
Karrubi told parliamentary reporters that President Khatami would be our candidate, adding that although the president has been doubtful about his candidacy, we are trying to convince him by the time of the elections.
