Malone Hits Another Milestone in Jazz Win
Earlier this season, Malone surpassed Wilt Chamberlain to take over second place on the NBA's all-time scoring list and this week he passed 32,000 career points.
Less than three minutes into Thursday's game, Malone became just the sixth player in NBA history to amass at least 26,000 points and 13,000 rebounds.
"When you're still playing the game, you don't think about it that much," Malone said of his run of milestones.
"I think when I'm done and I walk away, I'll look back and say, gosh, that was pretty awesome.' But right now, I really don't have time to think about it."
Malone finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and received scoring help from Donyell Marshall, who had 20 points to lead Utah for the third time in six games.
John Stockton added 11 points and nine assists and recent acquisition John Starks scored seven of his nine points during a key 14-7 burst as Utah opened a 68-58 third-quarter lead on the way to their 10th win in 12 games.
David Wesley scored 15 points and Elden Campbell added 14 for Charlotte, which has dropped seven of its last nine games.
