TEHRAN The presidential advisor and Head of Center for Women's Participation, Zahra Shojaei, conferred with President of the National Union of Jordanian Women, Princess Basmah Bint Talal in Amman on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues related to social activities of Iranian and Jordanian women in the framework of Islamic laws and values. Shojaei and Bint Talal, a sister of the late Jordanian Monarch King Hussein ibn Talal, stressed the importance of exchanging visits between Iranian and Jordanian female delegations, saying they contribute to the cause of promoting the role of Muslim women in regional and international fora.

Shojaei, heading a woman delegation, is visiting Jordan at the invitation of Princess Basmah. While in Jordan she will confer with Jordanian officials on affairs related to women and children and learn more about the activities of Jordan's nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
