U.S. Expulsion From UNHRC, INCB
The vote by secret ballot, not announced at the time, occurred last Thursday in the UN Economic and Social Council. The body's 54 members on the same day had thrown the U.S. out of the UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), which overshadowed the U.S. expulsion from the INCB.
Some 54 years after the establishment of the UNHRC, the expulsion of the Untied States from this commission was not so unexpected for some observers, since the U.S. had never really deserved to be a member of the UN Human Rights Commission. The fact is that during the Cold War era, Washington imposed itself on this commission.
Otherwise, how is it possible for a country that has massacred and violated the rights of Native Americans and Afro-Americans and committed war crimes in Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Panama, Grenada, Somalia, Persian Gulf and the Balkans to be a member of the UN Human Rights Commission?
The shameful expulsion of the U.S. from the UNHRC after 54 years came as a result of the hypocritical and impudent attitude of Washington and its human rights violations.
The U.S. refusal to join the Kyoto Protocol, its opposition to the formation of an international court for war criminals, its insistence on the deployment of a national missile defense (NMD) shield without considering the concerns of the international community and its blind support for the Zionist regime are just some instances of the U.S. disrespect for the international community and its human rights violations.
The U.S. expulsion from the UN Narcotics Control Board came after it was revealed that the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has long been working with the Mafia in production and smuggling of narcotics. Thus, the United States was no longer qualified to be a member of this board.
