IKIO Holds Second Grand Kendo, Iaido Gathering

TEHRAN The second Grand Kendo and Iaido (Samurai) Gathering of Iran was held here Friday in the presence of high-ranking Iranian and Japanese officials, great Japanese master of Samurai and senior member of World Iaido Federation J. Tuchuka Hanshi, and a host of interested people, said a fax from Public Relations Department of the Iran Kendo Iaido Organization (IKIO). Master Tuchuka holds Dan 9 of Iaido and Dan 7 of Kendo.

This sports event observed in Karate Hall of Shahid Kabkanian Gym of Tehran was sponsored by Soleiman Mahdizadeh, founder and official in charge of IKIO under Iran Karate Federation.

The fax said the gathering aimed at familiarizing Iranians with the authentic martial arts of Iaido and Kendo.
