Commemoration of Iranian Poet Shamloo

TEHRAN -- A ceremony in commemoration of the first anniversary of the death of the renowned Iranian poet Ahmad Shamloo was held at the Art Bureau of Qazvin. A group of poets attended the event.
Praising the name and memory of this famous poet, the director of the Qazvin Art Bureau, Ali Sohrabi, said that Shamloo was the father of blank verse in Iran, and that he was well acquainted with the poems of the renowned Iranian poet Nima and classical poems.
Sohrabi said that the death of Shamloo was a loss for our culture. He added that blank verse is known in Iran by the name of Shamloo and that he will always remain in our memory. He said that there is a sweetness in Shamloo's poems that attracts everyone, especially the youth.
Shamloo wrote over 70 poems, such as "Ibrahim in Fire", "Aida in Mirror", and "Book of Alley."
At the end of the ceremony, some of the poets of Qazvin recited poems in honor of Shamloo.
