TEHRAN -- Roads and Transportation Minister Ahmad Khorram said here on Sunday that the International Seminar on 'Iran Transit, Opportunities and Challenges Ahead' will be held in Tehran from June 11-12.

Khorram told reporters that seven ministers, 10 deputy ministers and a number of international institutions, organizations and associations as well as foreign transportation experts will attend the meeting.

He said the seminar will focus on marketing and customers, policy making and procedures, laws and regulations, investment and contribution of the private sector, transportation infrastructures and facilities, transportation officials and multidimensional transportation, travel and tourism facilities and Iran's transportation facilities and potential.

The minister said transit of goods via Iran would bring in substantial revenues in the long run, which can substitute the country's oil earnings.

Elsewhere in the interview, Khorram referred to the Iran-Russia-India trilateral meeting's approval for speedy inauguration of North-South Corridor, which is expected to handle 40 million tons of goods when it goes into operation in the next ten years. This, he said, would entail an earning of $1bn.
