ANKARA (IRIB) - Iran and Turkey discussed here Wednesday evening possible ways to bolster bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

The issues were raised during the meeting of the Iranian deputy foreign minister for economic affairs Mohammad-Hossein Adeli and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural resources Hilmi Guler. Adeli who arrived here Wednesday to hold meetings with Turkish economic and trade officials, termed Iran's gas export to Turkey as an important event in mutual relations saying, "transfer of Iran's gas to Europe via Turkey will help promote bilateral ties at an international level."

Guler also expressed his country's readiness to expand cooperation with Iran in the areas of energy, power, gas, oil and petrochemical industries.

Referring to transmission of electricity to Turkey from Turkmenistan via Iran, he said it would open a new chapter in bilateral ties and the two countries would be able to cooperate in third countries including Iraq.
