TEHRAN The daily Jomhouri Eslami in its political commentary here Saturday wrote that although Egyptian officials and Zionist regime signed the Camp David contract 20 years ago, the Middle East still suffers from its destructive effects. Not only did not the contract end in a peace in the Middle East, but it caused the Zionists to become more impudent and avaricious.

Its harmful effects have projected Egyptian Anwar Sadat's government as a treacherous regime in the eyes of the Palestinians, Egyptians, and all Muslim nations. This is why the late Imam ordered to sever ties with the Sadat's regime three months after the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Today, the Zionist hegemony in the region has made the crime of Sadat regime clearer for the Muslim countries.

The daily Akhbar in its commentary on the Middle East talks in London wrote that the meeting ended in failure. Hence, all warring factions are to resume talks in Washington in less than a week. The U.S. held similar meetings in Islamabad to solve Afghanistan crisis, but it did not bear fruit. The daily went on to note that the U.S. intends to exploit the frustration of both sides over their differences so as to gain political advantages out of such meetings.

Since they have a wide range of differences, one should not wait for a miracle to occur in Washington, it said.
