TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- The feature-length film “Small Man” by Ebrahim Forouzesh, a famous director of children’s cinema, has gone on screen in Tehran and some other cities.

The film, produced by the Institute for Intellectual Development of the Children and the Young Adults (IIDCYA), has had a successful participation at several domestic and international film festivals over recent years.

The film “Small Man” has received the great reward of France’s International Cine Junior Film Festival, and the silver elephant of the Indian International Hyderabad Film Festival.

The film is about an eleven-year-old boy who tries to earn a living for his family in the absence of his father.

The “Small Man” was adapted from Abbas Jahangiri’s fiction Shazdeh Cadou (The Pumpkin Princess) by Ebrahim Forouzesh.

Forouzesh has written some good scripts, produced over 90 feature-length and short films and directed the films “Key”, “vat”, “Palm”, and “Children of Oil”.

He has scooped up further rewards from the Fajr, Locarno, Moscow, Chicago, Sao Paolo, and Vienna international film festivals, a great success for him and the Iranian cinema. SRM/IS
