TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) –- The first Palestine Film Week is to open on November 26 in Moscow, said Palestine ambassador to Russia.

A total of 14 feature length movies and documentaries narrating culture, history, civilization, and battles of the Palestinian people will be put on screen, added Khairi al-Oridi.

He described the program as a significant cultural event, adding that the Palestinian cinema like the cinema of any other country is a mirror reflecting people’s life while the cinema of Palestine depicts sacrifice, pain, oppression, resistance, and solidarity as well.

Pointing to the Zionist regime’s cruel invasion of Palestine, he further noted that Israel still continues a cultural war via occupying Palestinians’ homeland.

“The Zionist regime keeps killing Palestinian students and cultural figures in order to achieve his evil goals,” he added.

Head of Valfajr Cinema Company, Mohammad Mohammadov also expressed his satisfaction over holding such event in Moscow, adding that it will be a good chance for Russian people to get familiar with the culture, history and civilization of Palestine.

The Cannes award-winner “Divine Intervention” by Elia Suleiman is also among the films to be screened.
