TEHRAN (ISNA) – The First International Conference on Tourism & Handicrafts is to be held in Tehran in mid-May.

"This is the new government's first international conference, and the way it is held will illustrate the situation of Iran's tourism and handicrafts," said UNWTO Conference chairman, Alireza Sadjadpur.

"Tourism is a progressing industry and our country has shown much attention towards this industry, and we must consider that Iran is the fifth major world handicrafts maker,” he added.

The guests of this conference are to be taken on a one day trip to Isfahan; and the program is in addition to the one-week tour for UNWTO selected reporters.
