Acharian’s “History of the Persian Language” translated into Armenian

TEHRAN -- The book “History of the Persian Language” by Armenian Iranologist Hrachia Acharian was recently translated into Armenian with the cooperation of Iran’s cultural office in Armenia.

The first section of the book focuses on the classification of languages, placing emphasis on the Indian and Iranian languages and the Indo-European family of languages in general.

The second section is dedicated to the history of the Persian language and discusses the language of ancient Persia, the grammar of the Persian language, and the roots of the Persian language.

The third section features a short history of Iran from ancient times to the present and also includes a collection of articles by the professor.

Hrachia Acharian (1876-1953) is one of the greatest Armenian scholars and scientists. He studied at the University of Paris and the University of Strasbourg and wrote the book “Comprehensive Grammar of the Armenian Language”.

Acharian’s “History of the Persian Language” is an indispensable tool for researchers and linguists.
