Iran, Georgia keen to boost trade

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Europe-America Department of Trade Development Organization director-general Abdolhamid Asadian said here Saturday an Iranian trade delegation that visited Georgia on Nov 19-22 discussed trade relations with Georgian officials.

He said the visiting delegation comprised businessmen, investors and managers of 20 producers and exporters of various Iranian goods.

"The delegation consisted of producers and exporters of foodstuff, clothing, cattle products, industrial goods, construction materials, detergents, plastic wares, automobiles and electrical devices.

He said its main objective was to promote exports of Iranian non-oil products to Georgia.

Another objective was to attend a one-day conference of businessmen from both countries, he added.

Asadian said that the conference, which was held at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel on October 21, focused on ways of removing impediments in the way of a greater exchange of goods between Iran and Georgia.
