SHIRAZ, Fars Prov. (IRNA) -- A lawmaker said on Sunday that Tehran favors a diplomatic solution to its nuclear problem.

Second deputy head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad-Nabi Rudaki told a group of provincial administrative officials that Tehran is eagerly following up its peaceful nuclear energy case, emphasizing diplomatic channel as the key to resolving the problem.

"We are ready for dialogue on the issue," he said.

The parliamentarian also described the capture of some Iranian diplomats in Iraq by the Americans as gross violation of diplomatic norms and regulations.
