TEHRAN (FNA) -- In a meeting with Iranian Parliament speaker Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel in Ankara on Monday, a number of Turkish political and scientific scholars said they viewed reinvigoration of Tehran-Ankara ties as beneficial to regional stability.

The Turkish elites stressed Iran's significant role in the region and the world, and said that consolidated ties of the two countries leave positive effects on the stability and security of the region.

Also during the meeting, the two sides exchanged views about the two countries' cultural, historical and political commonalities, and confirmed that Iran and Turkey are, meantime, influenced by regional developments.

The Iranian Parliament speaker pointed to the history of Iran-Turkey ties, and said that unlike the tensed relations present at the borders of many world states, Iran and Turkey's shared borders have been a center of peace and friendship for centuries.
