TEHRAN (PIN) – The daily gasoline production of Isfahan Refinery would leap from 8 to 21 million liters per day, said the managing director of Isfahan Oil Refining Co. Friday.

Manuchehr Aqanejad told PIN the refinery’s output would increase by implementing the optimization project. Explaining about the improvement of quality of the refinery’s products, he said the salt water treatment and recycling unit would become operational in the near future.
According to the official, the industrial unit with a 400 cubic meter per hour capacity had made an 85 percent progress so far.
The managing director said the refinery’s sulfur recycling unit would come on stream, adding sour gas associated with ammoniac would be transferred to the unit, where they were turned to pure sulfur.
The process leads to a 15 ton increase in the refinery’s daily sulfur production.
“At present, Isfahan Oil Refining Co. ranks second among the country’s nine refineries in terms of capacity, following Abadan Refinery, and stands top with a 375 thousand barrel per day capacity in terms of variety of products,” boasted Aqanejad.
“Isfahan Oil Refining Co. supplies the feedstock of recently privatized Sepahan and Jay oil refining companies,” said the official, adding the refinery also provided unprocessed heavy oil of some downstream oil and petrochemical companies.
Furthermore, Isfahan Refinery supplied the feedstock of Isfahan and Arak petrochemical complexes as well as Iran Chemical Industries Co., the producer of raw material of detergents, he added
