TEHRAN -- The winners of the First Soureh Press Photo Festival were announced during a ceremony on Monday at Andisheh Hall of Tehran’s Art Bureau.

Art Bureau Director Hassan Bonyanian, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Visual Art Department Director Habibollah Sadeqi, and jury members Jahangir Razmi, Hossein Qandi, and Karen Firuz attended the ceremony.
Mehdi Qasemi won the first prize, Mostafa Haqiqi was awarded the second prize, and Hossein Fatemi received the third prize in the Individual Photo Section.
Ashraf Tabatabaii won the Saeid Janbozorgi Award in the Photo Collection Section.
“The Soureh Photo Agency was inaugurated last year as the first Iranian photo agency to support Iranian photojournalists, and we hope the agency continues its activities for many years,” Rasul Oliazadeh, the director of the Iranian Photographers’ Center, said during the ceremony.
“Although Iran’s photography is recognized around the world for its press photography, it is a little-known field of art in Iran. We should do our best to introduce people to press photography,” festival secretary Hassan Sarbakhshian stated during the ceremony.
Selected works of the gala are currently on display in an exhibition at the Iranian Photographers’ Center.
The showcase continues until December 20 at the venue, which is located at the intersection of Hafez St. and Somayyeh St
