TEHRAN -- An Iranian band is to perform in the first edition of a traditional music festival, which will be held in Tozeur, Tunisia from April 17 to 20.

The band, which features singer Ashkan Kamangari, Sina Jahanabadi on kamancheh, Pasha Hanjani on ney, and Hossein Rezania on daf, will be giving performances at the festival entitled “Tozeur, the Oriental, the African”.
Hundreds of artists from Egypt, India, Mali, Guinea, Nigeria, and other countries will be participating in the festival.
Sponsored by Tunisie Telecom and the Tozeur City Hall, the event will feature a series of concerts, theater performances, magic shows, puppet shows, and conferences.
The festival is being organized to familiarize people with the folk traditions of different countries and to help introduce Tozeur as an international tourism destination.
