TEHRAN -- The second volume of “Wir Sprechen Persisch” (We Speak Persian) by Mahmud Falaki and Karin Afshar has recently been published in Germany.

Iranian literary critic Falaki and German linguist Karin Afshar use the audio-lingual method to teach the Persian language to Germans.
Although Europeans are not familiar with Persian orthography, Persian and most European languages are Indo-European languages so Persian is easier for most Europeans to learn than other languages, Falaki wrote in the book’s introduction.
A phonetic alphabet is used in the book so that foreigners can learn to speak Persian before learning Persian orthography, he added.
A CD containing dialogues and drills is included with the book.
