TEHRAN - The first Arts and Cultural Festival of South Women of Iran is to be held in mid-May in Yasuj, the capital city of the southwestern province of Kohgiluye o Boyer-Ahmad.

On the themes of “Hijab and dignity culture” and “Year of National Unity and Islamic Solidarity”, the event is being cosponsored by the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance department of the province, secretariat of popular culture council, Women Affair’s Bureau, the IRIB and the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of the Province.
The festival, which will feature plastic arts, music, local handicrafts and artworks as well as photography is to be held with participation of the provinces of Fars, Khouzestan, Booshehr, Hormozgan, Charmahal o Bahkhtiyari and Kohgiluye o Boyer-Ahmad.
Interested individuals can send their works to the secretariat for participation in the festival before April 29, 2008
