Iran’s “Be Calm” awarded at two European festivals

TEHRAN -- Ramtin Lavafipur’s “Be Calm and Count to Seven” recently received awards at the Fribourg and Roma Independent festivals.
The film won the 2009 Prix du Jury Oecuménique award at the Fribourg International Film Festival which was held from March 14 to 21 in Switzerland.Lavafipur’s “Be Calm and Count to Seven” was also awarded an honorary diploma at the Feature Film Section of the Roma Independent Film Festival held from March 19 to 27.
The film narrates the tale of a youth named Motu, who is a member of a gang of youths who retrieve contraband from the sea. Meanwhile, Motu’s father has disappeared while transporting illegal human cargo and the smugglers’ middleman contends with a toothache and tense telephone calls from his wife in Tehran.
