TEHRAN -- Vice President of Iran’s Sports Federation for the Disabled Ghaffur Karegari said on Monday that the federation considers upcoming competitions like puzzle pieces in preparation for the 2012 London Paralympic Games.

“We have five prestigious events in the current year such as the 2nd Islamic Countries Solidarity Games and the Sitting Volleyball Youth World Championship. Iran will take part in the four events of the Solidarity Games, namely: sitting volleyball, table tennis, shooting and futsal which will be held in Tehran in October,” Karegari said.
“Our first goal is winning the tournament championship. Also, we are going to hold the event in an honorable manner becoming an Islamic state,” he added.
“The other tournaments can be considered as good preparation for the 2012 London Paralympic Games. These tourneys are good opportunities which complete our programs,” Karegari concluded.
