Oman tenders for work on Sohar oil refinery

MUSCAT (Reuters) -- Oman has tendered five contracts for maintenance work at its largest refinery at Sohar, contractors said on Thursday.
Sohar has capacity to produce 116,000 barrels per day. The second refinery is at Muscat with capacity to pump 85,000 bpd.The work at Sohar includes replacement of pipelines, a heat exchanger, and installation of a catalyst, sources at prequalified contractors said.
Among the companies Oman has prequalified to bid for the contracts are India’s Larsen & Toubro and Oman’s Galfar Engineering, according to Oman’s tender board website. Bidders have until August 31 to submit bids.
