Fergie issues Rio defense

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hit back at suggestions that Rio Ferdinand's best days are behind him.

Former England boss Graham Taylor recently claimed that Ferdinand had 'lost his legs' after being beaten by Fernando Torres in Liverpool's 2-0 win over United.
It has been a troubled season for the ex-Leeds defender, who missed United's weekend win over Blackburn, with the 30-year-old struggling with injury and a loss of form.
Ferguson is not surprised to see one of his players come under fire, but the vastly-experienced Scot insists the talented centre-back will emerge from his blip as a stronger player.
