Doping inquiry into Austrian champion Hoffmann

Austria's anti-doping authority NADA on Friday said it had opened an investigation into Austrian cross country ski champion Christian Hoffmann, suspected of doping in an ongoing investigation being carried out by the Vienna prosecutor's office.

NADA did not give further details but has not suspended Hoffmann, 34, from Saturday's World Cup event at Davos.
Hoffmann faces NADA questioning in the coming weeks but is hoping to take part in the February Winter Games in Vancouverand says he has done notrhing wrong.
He won the 30km gold medal at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake after Spaniard Johan Muehlegg was disqualified for blood doping.
