TEHRAN -- The Iranian film “The Hunter” will be competing at the Berlin International Film Festival, organizers announced on Tuesday.

Directed by Rafi Pitts, the film is about a young man who randomly kills two police officers in an act of vengeance. He escapes into a forest, where he is arrested by two other officers.
Pitts, Mitra Hajjar, Nasser Maddahi, and Malek-Jahan Khazaii are the main members of the cast.
Roman Polanski’s latest movie, “The Ghost Writer” and “On the Path” by Bosnian-born director Jasmila Zbanic are on the lineup for the festival, which will take place from February 11 to 21.
Scorsese’s “Shutter Island” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, Patricia Clarkson, Jackie Earle Haley and Michelle Williams will also be screened in the competition section at the event.
Last year, Iran’s “About Elly” won a Silver Bear for best director at the Berlinale.
