Martyrdom, Art of Pious Men
November 25, 1998 - 0:0
TEHRAN Martyrdom is a great honor bestowed by the Almighty God on His special servants. Martyrs are those nearest to God, the elect. What can we do now? We, who have fallen behind, who have lost their path, the path towards martyrdom, who are observing the honor and magnificence of martyrs. We can do nothing but relieve and appease ourselves with martyrs' memories, names, objectives, thoughts and actions.
The page which you are reading now used to be covered with interviews with contemporary artists in different fields. Today, however, we are going to light the candle of memory of the late young artist, martyr Hamidreza Nezam, at a gathering attended by some knowlegeable individuals. By a glance at the life of this beloved artist and the alert sight of love during Basij Week, we hold dear the memory of all martyr artists.
Born in 1960 in Tehran, Hamidreza Nezam graduated from conservatory (Higher Academy of Music?) on the early days of culmination of the Islamic Revolution. During those days he was among those who dared to practice art activities in order to publicize religion and revive Islamic Religion by applying all artistic skills. Engaged in Construction Jihad, Nezam became the supervisor of Jihad Chorus Group in Teatr-e Shahr (City Theater). Besides over 30 times presence in war fronts, Martyr Nezam became the IRIB reporter, writer, director, researcher and narrator of films of Guard Corps War Section as well as the narrator of Sacred Defense film and director of two critical and important programs of Guard Corps and Iran During War broadcast on TV. Touching on other artistic activities of Nezam, one can refer to his music composition, directing several films and theaters, composition of revolutionary songs including Basij, Mosque, Departure and You Are My Soul Khomeini (Rouh-e Mani Khomeini) sung by Nezam himself.
Presentation of two other important projects of Global Research Center of Art and Art Encyclopaedia are his other activities. Martyr Hamidreza Nezam, left valuable works in different fields of photography, designing, painting and calligraphy. Whatever mentioned above was just a hint of his artistic activities. Nezam was wounded in his waist during Operations of Karbala 5. After two months when he relatively gained his health, he once again went to the war fronts.
He stayed there until the time of his martyrdom. Depicting the most beautiful resistance and sacrifice epics, Nezam martyred in Nasr 4 Operations on July 2, 1987 in Mavout region in Iraq. His last art was his martyrdom. In fact martyrdom is the art of God's servants. The martyr artist in his last article clarified Martyr as follows: Martyr is sacrificed person for love (ZABIH-E ESHQ). Martyr is the flag-man and pioneer of salvation caravan.
Martyr is the pulse of the creation. Martyr is the intercessor of the heaven. Martyr is the guardian and the proof of God. Martyr is the little prophet of God. Yes, martyrs are little divine prophets.
